We envision a planet where people and places are better connected through sustainable travel.
Being Human Shouldn’t Cost the Earth
Since 2014 ‘You. Smart. Thing.’ (YST) has been fine-tuning its value proposition for host cities, global events, local authorities, venues, festivals, Destination Management Organisations, business and retail parks, health and education campuses, infrastructure consultancies, and transport operators. We’ve captured hero clients and built an amazing international team, all of whom help deliver unparallelled returns on our diverse client-base’s investment in environmentally focused travel demand management.
We believe that you and your customers could be better connected. ‘You. Smart. Thing.’ is the leading travel demand management platform for destinations, venues, and events. It is used to enhance visitor experience and engagement whilst reducing the disproportionate carbon footprint created by visitor travel.
The platform comprises an easily embedded web-based travel assistant interface for visitors, an intuitive travel assistant configuration dashboard, and a comprehensive data analytics and insights suite. The travel assistant interface utilises state-of-the-art web-based technology making it easy for destinations to implement. There’s nothing for visitors to download or install, it’s intuitive, mobile optimised, and integrated with client systems such as websites, mobile apps, ticket booking systems, and marketing communications.
The service provides additional confidence and assurance in respect of travelling to and from destinations, venues, and events by enabling organisations of all shapes and sizes to offer their visitors a personalised low-carbon travel plan.
YST reduces travel emissions, which typically make up most of an events carbon footprint, by integrating venue, local authority, national highways, and transport operator datasets to generate recommended low-carbon routes. Curated ‘last-mile’ routes are also configured to improve destination accessibility and wayfinding, whilst automated travel plan updates mitigate the risk of delays or disruptions and can even recommend discounted travel and accommodation.
The platform has been used to deliver major events including the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, and is now deployed by multiple regional authorities, destination management organisations, venues, and events, both in the UK and internationally, to provide world-class visitor experiences whilst helping to address their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) challenges, and to tackle decarbonisation.
