The Annual Gathering of Sports Rights Holders, Host Cities and Industry Experts. The Events Summit is designed to foster collaboration between sports, cultural and music events for inspiration and growth

The Major Events International (MEI) Events Summit and Gala Dinner is taking place at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester on October 8th. The 2024 edition is designed to deliver a highly focused engagement programme for expert suppliers, rights holders, international federations and host cities.

Chris Thompson, CEO of ‘You. Smart. Thing.’ (YST), is moderating and contributing to panel discussions, ‘Event Case Study: Ideas to Save Money or Make More Money’ (Panellist – 11:15am, Room 2) and ‘Sustainability Workshop’ (Moderator – 1:15pm, Room 2). Chris Thompson, YST CEO, is moderating the Sustainability Workshop. He will be joined by Claire Daniel, Operations Director at Edgbaston, Professor Daniel Parson, Pro-Vice Chancellor at Loughborough University, and Megan Thomas, Managing Partner at Environmental Resources Management. Contributors will identify 10 challenges the industry should set itself to raise the bar on the issue of sustainability and brainstorm ideas on how they can be achieved.

Chris has also been invited to contribute to ‘Event Case Study: How to Save Money or Make More Money’ panel alongside Ferenc Mátyás, Head of Growth at Continest and Peter Raymond, Course Director at ESA Diploma (European Sponsorship Association).
