Challenging the Metrics That Define Sustainable Events
Join ‘You. Smart. Thing.’ at The Events Summit
Chicago Booth London Conference Centre | 7 November 2025 | 08:30 – 16:00
The Sustainable Events Show returns for its 5th year — this time hosted at Chicago Booth London in the heart of the Square Mile. As the UK’s dedicated sustainability-focused event industry showcase, the show features over 100 exhibitors, live sessions, and curated seminars focused on real-world solutions.
Created to spark discovery, education, and connection, the event brings together event buyers and suppliers who are committed to advancing sustainability — from environmentally responsible venues to technology companies leading the charge on decarbonisation. The 2025 edition will once again be a carbon neutral event.
‘Sustainable Venues Don’t Make a Difference – Are We Obsessing About the Wrong Metric?’
The Sustainable Events Show is known for sparking bold conversations — and this year introduces a dynamic new format that moves beyond traditional panels.
In this fast-paced session, speakers are given five minutes each to present their perspective on a provocative topic: “Sustainable Venues Don’t Make a Difference – Are We Obsessing About the Wrong Metric?”
Alex Townshend, Head of Environmental and Socio-economic Impact (ESI) at’ You. Smart. Thing.’, will join Danny Pecorelli from Exclusive Collection to debate which sustainability metrics truly matter. The session concludes with a short audience Q&A and a potential live vote to capture the room’s views.
Time: 10:30 – 11:00
Location: Chicago Booth London Conference Centre
Speakers:
- Alex Townshend, Head of Environmental and Socio-economic Impact (ESI), ‘You. Smart. Thing.’
-
Danny Pecorelli, Managing Director, Exclusive Collection
